Note to self

Sick-day Noodle Soup:
Saute shallots and mushrooms in oil.
Add carrots and celery.
Cover with water. Add bay leaf, parmesan rind, "not chicken" bouillon cube.
Snap quinoa spagetti into fourths, toast in dry pan. Boil until still very chewy.
Add noodles to soup once carrots have softened.
Remove bay leaf and rind.
Top with fresh black pepper, sea salt, and chives.

Phone Photos

I just got a new cell phone and dumped all my old photos onto the computer. I mostly take photos of my cats and meals that I eat by myself and feel like I need to share with someone. The photos are in reverse order and span about a year or more.

New Bookmarks

Some new goodies that I've added to my bookmarks:

Confetti System These just make me want to throw a party!

Garlic Butter Roasted Mushrooms I could see a huge platter of these and a baguette disappearing pretty fast.

Etsy's Taste Test I haven't bought anything yet but I can't stop clicking through the pretties. So much easier for me to get lost in Etsy now.

Butterscotch Pudding Recipe Somehow I don't have cornstarch and it is driving me crazy.

Wedding Photography

I've been obsessively browsing weddings online and have found a lot of dorky wedding photos (I'm looking at you, mustaches on a stick). Here are some photos from really adorable weddings. So charming!

Homemade Amaretto

I love the idea of giving something homemade and edible for Christmas gifts. Last year I made white chocolate with crushed candy canes that turned out delicious and were really simple to make. If I decide to up the ante this year, this recipe for Homemade Amaretto sounds incredible! I am picturing some amazing hot chocolate right now...
